These little necklaces are selling well.
I haven't had a chance to list it on my website yet.
They're priced at £65 and available in various colourways.

Butterfly collection is flying out the door - or at least fluttering as I'm progressing slower than I would like.
It is probably the most successful product in my webshop.
They received a extra boost last night when Ruth Watson modelled hers beautifully on her programme Ruth Watson's Hotel Inspector.

Anyone who knows my work will know my fondness for images of trees.
I have always loved illustration, but I think it was probably my husband who
passed on his love of trees. He's a sucker for a fir tree and has planted them all over our garden.
This wallpaper in our tiny understair clockroom is my favourite. It is vintage - 1930's I think.
It's the smallest room in our house but one of my favourite rooms.

Rings proved really popular at Origin, especially the rabbits!

I'm back from London a week now.
Exhibiting at Origin was fun. Exhausting, but great to catch up with my wonderful returning customers as well as meeting lots of new ones who will hopefully also get the bug. Thanks to everyone who purchased or left lovely comments.

Friday 2 October 2009

I have been blogging for several months now, trying it out. Today is the first day my blog has gone on my website.
I decided to start blogging mainly because of the nature of my work - its impossible to show everything I do on my website - mainly because rarely no too items are the same.
In this blog I want to record the different variations of pieces listed on my website, as well as new pieces I'm working on.

I'll be out of the workshop until week beginning Monday 12th October , hopefully with some shots of Origin.

Above is one of the new necklaces I've been working on. I have been creating my own cabochons. I love sourcing vintage items but sometimes its impossible to find exactly what you're looking for.

My new postcards arrived yesterday. This is the piece I used for the image.
'Souvenir' brooch. I tried to upload the professional photo I had taken, but it just wasn't happening.
I have to say I am pretty useless on the computer!
Most of the photos taken on this blog are taken on my mobile, hence the quality - that's my excuse anyway.

It's been a crazy month. I'm been grabbing every possible moment in the workshop preparing for Origin.

Wouldn't have been possible without unbelievable support from Ian, mum, dad, sister and mum and dad in law. My parents are on their way over from Ireland. They'll help Ian with the boys next week. My dad is driving me down to London to help with set up. I'm a lucky girl!

I leave for London on Sunday. I'm really excited as I've had a two year break from the show to be with the boys as has my great friend joanne. We're staying together in London and for the first time ever have a stand next to each other, so looking forward to spending time together.

A few week ago I was involved in the shoot for the new Craftscotland Cinema Campaign, The C Word. Here is the advert!

Mr T also had his 5th Birthday.
We had a small party with some of his friends at home.

Its been well over a month since my last post.
And what a busy month, we've had a wonderful holiday in a woodland lodge in Perthshire.
I saw my first ever red spotted mushroom!
There was a wonderful bakery in the village - The Water Mill, Blair Atholl.
blairathollwatermill.co.uk
The boys had a ball grinding oats in the mill.
Since getting back Mr T has started school. Such an emotional time but he's really loving it so I'm embracing that.
I will miss him when he goes in full time at the end of September.
Saying that I'm 'trying' to work my socks off.
Origin www.craftscouncil.org.uk/origin09/ is just over three weeks away.
There is so much I want to do in that time!

You can tell I have a deadline this week.
Edinburgh Dazzle at the Traverse Theatre.

Love Ottos bunny light

Boys with Granny and Papa today so got an extra day in the workshop.
Organised many extra days in workshop - work is piling up!
Here are some new charm bracelets.

Thursday 2 July 2009

Here are those compartment brooches filled and ready for there tops to be riveted on.
The middle brooch on the top row is for an 18th Birthday.
Sweet story. I did a workshop with the Birthday girl at DCA in 2000. She would have been 9.
How time flies.
I started making these brooches in 1995. I have always collected and at that time I housed my collections in wooden Printer Trays.
That was my inspiration.
My work has moved on quite a lot since then but these brooches still remain a bit of a signature.

Working on compartment brooch orders.
Here are some drawings for the inserts.

Thursday 18 June 2009

Packing up some orders.
Sometimes customers give me colourways or an initial to work with,
sometimes they just say go for it, and sometimes they choose all of the charms.
This was one of those times.

Filing away at settings for button necklaces, bracelets and earrings tonight.
Got a cheeky tiny telly in my workshop and just finished watching 'Mary Queen of Charity Shops'.
Love it and love Charity shopping.
One of my more recent finds is this heart shaped mirror.

Just found out I'm exhibiting in week one at Origin 2009.
Pondering how to exhibit work.
